The home screen
When you open the app, the home screen greets you with several ways to start exploring:- What’s in Season — a row of product categories updated each month to reflect what’s typically available locally right now (for example, spring greens in March or pumpkins in October).
- Browse by Category — a grid of product types including Grass-Fed Beef, Raw Milk, Pastured Eggs, Produce, Raw Honey, 100% Grass-Fed Dairy, and Pastured Chicken. Tap any category to jump directly to matching farms.
- Browse by Type — filter by place type: Farms, Farmers Markets, CSA Programs, or Farm Stands.
- Nearby Farms — farms close to your current location, shown once you grant location access.
- Top Rated — highest-quality listings in your area.
- Your Favorites — quick access to farms you’ve saved (visible once you have at least one saved farm).
Using the map
Tap Explore the map from the home screen, or tap the map tab in the navigation, to open the full map view. The map shows pins for every farm, market, and stand in the visible area.Location access
Bhumi uses your device location to show nearby farms and calculate distances. You’re asked for permission the first time you open the map or the home screen. You can grant or deny this at any time through your device settings.
- Farms are sorted by distance from you by default.
- The home screen shows your city name and a Nearby Farms section.
- Distance indicators appear on each farm card (for example, “4.2 mi”).
Browsing the map
Pan and zoom to explore any area. As you move the map, the farm list on the left (desktop) or below (mobile) updates to show what’s in the current viewport. Tap a pin on the map to see a quick preview of that farm. Tap the preview card to open the full farm profile.Sorting results
Use the sort control above the farm list to change the order of results:| Sort option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Closest | Orders farms by distance from your location |
| Highest rated | Shows farms with the best listing quality first |
| Newest | Shows recently added farms first |
